    All veterans are invited to enjoy a special meal on us! Bring a guest and enjoy delicious treats made just for you.

    Veterans can find a free meal on Friday, Nov. 8, in either of two locations:

    • Titan Dining Room, McNichols Campus, from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
    • Dental School Cafe, Corktown Campus, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

  • November 04: Election watch party to be held in Shiple Hall, Nov. 5

    Detroit Mercy is hosting an election watch party Tuesday, Nov. 5 from 8-10 p.m. in the Mercy Gathering Place inside of Shiple Hall. The watch party is being hosted by University Ministry, Student Life, Athletics and the Political Science Department.

    Stop in for pizza, community, election bingo with prizes and most importantly civic engagement!

  • November 04: November is National Career Development month

    Students are invited to join the Center for Career & Professional Development (CCPD) and the National Career Development Association as we celebrate National Career Development month! This year’s theme is Creating My Career Path: Embracing Change in My Journey.

    CCPD encourages students to explore their futures and embrace the changes that will come. There will be several events offered throughout the month of November that will assist students in taking ownership of their career development, set career goals and learn about new opportunities.

    Join us at one or more of the following events to celebrate National Career Development month:

  • November 04: Celebrating first-generation students on Thursday, Nov. 7

    First-generation students are the first in their families to attend college. We know our first-generation students are strong, resilient individuals who are determined to succeed in their endeavors here at Detroit Mercy.

    On the eve of National First-Generation College Student Day, the Office of Student Life invites all first-generation students to stop by the Lower Level of the Student Union on Thursday, Nov. 7 from 12:45-2 p.m. during dead hour as we celebrate the tough cookies that you are. Treat yourself to a cookie and share your story on why being a first-generation student is important to you!

  • November 04: Fall festival fun for all on Wednesday, Nov. 6

    All are welcome to join the University community for some fall fun with a festival Wednesday, Nov. 6 on the McNichols Campus!

    Sign up to practice interviewing skills with professional recruiters through the Center for Career and Professional Development. Time slots available between 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and practice interviews take place in Reno Hall Room 143.

    Cheer for Detroit Mercy’s women’s basketball team at their 11 a.m. game in Calihan Hall against the University of Michigan-Dearborn.

    Afterwards, enjoy the fall weather with games, food, music and community in the Tennis Pavilion and Practice Fields from 1-5 p.m. Show your skills in pumpkin bowling, bobbing for apples or axe throwing inflatables. Then warm up by bonfires with your friends while you make s’mores or enjoy your own caramel apple creation!

The movie Drought and Deluge —Ìýproduced by Associate Professor Ziggy Kozicki and Stephanie Baiyasi-Kozicki ’15 — will be shown at the American Public Health Association Film Festival during their October annual meeting. The movie features experts including Detroit Mercy Associate Professor of Law Nicholas J. Schroeck. This movie provides an explanation as to why intense weather changes are occurring in America.
